TAKE ACTION BELOW FOR GAZA FAMINE

Israel - Palestine

We champion Palestinian rights, mobilizing Americans through advocacy and education to demand a ceasefire and the right of return for Palestinians. Scroll down to know (1) Our Stance, (2) How to Take Action, and (3) Legislation to Support Palestinians.

Our Stance

Emgage Action fights for Palestinian rights and mobilizes Muslim American communities through political engagement, policy advocacy, and public education. We push for ceasefire resolutions, meet with lawmakers and officials, organize grassroots campaigns, and uplift community voices calling for justice and dignity. We oppose the ongoing occupation and displacement of Palestinians and demand a U.S. foreign policy rooted in peace, accountability, and human rights. Our work also challenges Islamophobia and affirms the right to boycott, divest, and sanction, while supporting the Right of Return for all Palestinians.

Stop Gaza Famine — Tell Congress to Let Aid In

Legislation to Support Palestinians

Below are three critical legislative efforts that demand immediate action. Each addresses a unique aspect of the crisis in Palestine, from halting the flow of weapons to supporting humanitarian aid and justice for atrocities being committed.

The legislation would withhold the transfer of offensive weapons to Israel and demand Israel’s compliance with U.S. and international law.

Given Netanyahu and Trump’s plan to continue and expand ground operations in Gaza and the West Bank and displace Palestinians, the Block the Bombs Act is an important and time-sensitive step to assert Congress's oversight authority to protect civilians from starvation, displacement, and death.

The United States has historically been one of the largest financial supporters of UNRWA, which serves nearly 6 million Palestinian refugees across the West Bank, East Jerusalem, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon. UNRWA has served as the primary humanitarian aid organization operating in Gaza, and without funding, hundreds of thousands of Gaza civilians are left vulnerable.

In March of last year, the U.S. paused UNRWA funding after the Israeli government alleged that 12 agency employees had direct involvement in Hamas’ October 7 terrorist attack. Following the United Nations’ investigation and proactive commitments made by UNRWA toward complete accountability and reform, all countries except the U.S. have resumed their UNRWA funding (European Union, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Finland, Germany, Japan, and Sweden).

This legislation will end the congressionally and administratively mandated pause on funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

Reports show that humanitarian aid and supplies are depleting at alarming rates, which could cause deaths from malnutrition and starvation. The time to act is now.

After filing Joint Resolutions of Disapproval (JRDs) to block the sale of two of the most egregious Trump Administration offensive arms sales to Israel, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) today rose to bring the JRDs up for a vote by the full Senate.

The sales would provide almost $8.8 billion more in heavy bombs and other munitions to Netanyahu, including more than 35,000 massive 2,000-pound bombs.

  • The first resolution, S.J.Res 33, would block a sale of $2.04 billion for 35,329 MK 84 2,000 lb. bombs and 4,000 I-2000 Penetrator warheads.
  • The second resolution, S.J.Res.26, would block $6.75 billion for 2,800 500-pound bombs, 2,166 Small Diameter Bombs, and tens of thousands of JDAM guidance kits.

All of these systems have been linked to dozens of illegal airstrikes, including on designated humanitarian sites, resulting in thousands of civilian casualties. None of these systems are necessary to protect Israel from incoming drone or rocket attacks.
