National Muslim Organization Celebrates Biden Inauguration

Washington, D.C – Emgage Action joins the Muslim American community in celebrating the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Emgage launched the “Million Muslim Votes” campaign to turn out an unprecedented number of Muslim voters for the 2020 presidential election. The campaign succeeded, and turned out well over one million voters who voted early or via absentee ballots.

The PAC arm of the organization endorsed Biden for President, and Biden attended the “Million Muslim Votes” Summit, during which he famously first vowed to end the Muslim Ban on the first day of his presidency.

“By attending our summit, appointing a senior advisor for Muslim engagement, pushing out a policy for Muslim Americans, and engaging Muslim voters, Biden set an important precedent for politicians: Muslim Americans are an important constituency that is politically active and mobilized. We should be engaged and our votes must be earned. We look forward to working with a Biden-Harris administration to tackle the myriad of issues that confront our nation and globe. With today’s inauguration, we enthusiastically anticipate ending the Muslim Ban and other bigotted policies, but also, the start of a new and better chapter.” – Wa’el Alzayat, CEO of Emgage Action

Emgage Action is a Muslim civic advocacy organization, with national headquarters in Washington, D.C., and state chapters in Michigan, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New York.
